Medical researcher David Ho has been a pioneer in AIDS and HIV research for more than three decades. Discovering that the virus multiplies in early stages rather than lying dormant, he devised antiviral “cocktails” to fight disease early on. Currently, as scientific director and CEO of Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, Ho is working on finding a vaccine. He was named TIME magazine’s Man of the Year, in 1996, and is a scientific honoree of the New York Academy of Medicine.
