Indra Nooyi, chair and CEO of the global food and beverage company PepsiCo, was born in Madras, India, in 1955, and is the highest-ranking female executive of Indian descent. She launched the initiative “Performance with Purpose,” PepsiCo’s commitment to sustained growth with a focus on people and the environment. In 2011, Forbes magazine named her the fourth most powerful woman in the world. She holds an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management, in Calcutta, and an MA from Yale University, in public and private management.
