Virologist Alice S. Huang is known for her important research on plant viruses, RNA, and natural mutations with a focus on the AIDS virus. Currently a senior faculty associate in biology at the California Institute of Technology, she was previously a professor of microbiology and molecular genetics at the Harvard Medical School as well as dean of science at New York University. She sits on the Boards of the Rockefeller Foundation and Waksman Foundation for Microbiology, consulting on education, science, and science policy.
